OLD habits – and hits – die hard as four of the world’s top music acts head to Perth armed with their all-time greatest songs.
Stevie Nicks, Cold Chisel, Foo Figh- ters and Sir Elton John will perform over the next three weeks.
Long-time fans will be pleased to know the performers are not relying too heavily on their newest albums, with set lists from some of their recent concerts revealing a more than generous helping of the classics.
On Saturday, Nicks will play the WA Athletics Stadium on her show-stopping In Your Dreams tour, with her last concert in October combining Fleetwood Mac classics as well as some of her solo hits.
The set from a San Francisco gig included Fleetwood’s only No.1 single in the US, Dreams, as well as Gold Dust Woman, Rhiannon, Landslide and Leather and Lace.
Cold Chisel will play the same night at Sandalford Estate in Margaret River on the first leg of its WA tour, and is likely to rock out the same set list the next day at Belvoir Amphitheatre.
The band’s concert on the Gold Coast comprised favourites from its 38-year history, including Khe Sanh, Rising Sun and Cheap Wine.
The Foo Fighters will hit nib Stadium with Jack Black’s Tenacious D on November 28.
The Fighters’ set list from last Friday revealed hits such as Monkey Wrench, This Is a Call and All My Life, and acoustic solos from Dave Grohl featured heavily.
Sir Elton will wrap up the whirlwind concert season on Sunday, December 11, at Burswood Dome.
The Rocket Man’s November concert in Moscow listed favourites from his 47 years in the music industry.
Perth fans are likely to hear Tiny Dancer, Candle in the Wind, Daniel, Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me and Crocodile Rock among the set.
